The Biden-Harris administration’s “open borders” policy has had countless negative effects on the U.S., and while it tends to attract a lot of headlines when an illegal immigrant commits a major crime against Americans, such as murder, there is another very big problem that this policy is facilitating: the trafficking of migrant children.
Not only are the influx of illegals and poor border checks making it easier for traffickers, but in some cases, American officials are directly participating in trafficking. This is according to a three-month investigation by Muckraker’s Anthony Rubin.
He exposed the networks of human traffickers who help bring tens of thousands of children into the U.S. each year through a migration pipeline originating in South America – and the federal government’s role in this horrifying state of affairs.
After tracking down some of the 300,000-plus illegal alien children that the Biden-Harris administration has lost track of since entering the country, he uncovered some shocking facts. For example, not only does the federal government send children to strangers and labor trafficking rings, but a CIA contractor is actually helping to move children across the country.
For the report, Rubin obtained a list from a Department of Health and Human Services insider of more than 8,000 of the children who have gone missing, along with their last known addresses.
To understand the issue, it is important to realize that children who come into our country illegally without any parents are typically held in holding camps while the Office of Refugee Resettlement tries to find them a permanent home. The program they use for these placements is the Unaccompanied Children (UC) Program, which tries to place children with vetted sponsors such as close friends of their families or relatives wherever possible.
However, the UC Program has also placed children with labor and sex trafficking rings, along with the violent criminal organization MS-13.
One of the girls Rubin tracked down is now with a safe sponsor but recounted how many of the children who were at a holding facility with her cried because they were sent to sponsors they didn’t know, sometimes being awakened in the middle of the night and brought to these sponsors. Some friends who vowed to keep in touch disappeared entirely.
The report also looked into a private security contractor tasked with moving children from detention centers known as MVM, which has ties to the CIA, FBI, Homeland Security and NSA.
After previously doing work related to terrorist interrogations and providing security at Guantanamo Bay, they have now secured hundreds of millions of dollars’ worth of contracts to bring these children to their sponsors.
In one case, they brought 13 children to two illegal aliens from Guatemala living in a two-bedroom house. Although the trafficking case was reported to multiple agencies, none of them did anything about it. A brother and sister who were delivered to the home said they had trafficking debt hanging over them and detailed a system that targeted unaccompanied alien children like themselves, forcing them into a life of unimaginable abuses and hardship.
With 400 unaccompanied children, on average, being smuggled into the country each day since 2021, these traffickers have access to a steady supply of vulnerable young people, and the Biden-Harris administration is largely to blame for this appalling situation.
